Role Overview
As an A&A Partner specialising in the non-profit sector, you will be part of the non-profit leadership team, providing strategic direction, building relationships with clients, and driving the growth of our non-profit practice. You will act as a trusted adviser to a portfolio of non-profit organisations, delivering a range of audit, accounting and advisory services, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This is a key leadership role, requiring a combination of technical expertise, strategic vision and passion for the non-profit sector.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute the strategic plan for the non-profit practice, aligning with PEM’s overall objectives and the wider A&A strategic growth plans
- Mentor and inspire the non-profit team to achieve growth and excellence.
- Represent PEM in the non-profit sector, fostering thought leadership and innovation.
Client Management
- Serve as a primary contact for high-value clients, building long-lasting, trust-based relationships.
- Deliver high-quality advisory services in areas such as governance, risk management, and financial strategy.
- Oversee the preparation and review of non-profit accounts and reports, ensuring compliance with the Charity Commission and SORP guidelines.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand PEM's presence in the non-profit sector.
- Build and maintain a strong network of relationships with key stakeholders, including trustees, regulators and sector influencers.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote PEM’s expertise and services to the non-profit community.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure that all work undertaken complies with relevant legislation, accounting standards and ethical guidelines.
- Stay abreast of changes in the regulatory and legal environment affecting non-profit organisations and communicate implications to clients and team members.
Qualifications & Experience
- ACA/ACCA qualified with extensive post-qualification experience.
- Proven track record of working with charities or non-profits generally, preferably in a leadership role.
- Deep understanding of the Charities SORP, regulatory frameworks and governance best practices.
- Experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong business development skills with the ability to attract and retain clients.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders.
